Pre Treatment Care
  • Do not use topical agents that may increase the sensitivity of your skin such as retinoids, exfoliants, topical antibiotics or hydroxy acids 5-7 days prior to the procedure.
  • Avoid IPL/Laser procedures for at least 2 weeks prior to the procedure.
  • No waxing, depilatory creams, or electrolysis to the area being treated for 5 days prior.
  • Avoid unprotected sun exposure or sunburn at least one week before the procedure.
  • Do not shave the face the day of the procedure to avoid skin irritation.
  • Do not use topical agents that may increase the sensitivity of your skin such as retinoids, exfoliants, topical antibiotics or hydroxy acids 5-7 days prior to the procedure.
  • Keep make up to a minimum day of the procedure if possible and do not experiment with new products beforehand.
Post Treatment Care
  • Immediately following treatment, you should apply a broad-spectrum physical sunscreen (minimum SPF 30), such as Invisible Physical Defense SPF 30 or Porescreen SPF 40.
  • Avoid direct sun exposure for 2-3 weeks to prevent hyperpigmentation, and to wear a wide-brim hat if you must be in the sun.
  • You may begin peeling within 2-3 days. This is normal; you should not pick at loose skin, as this may cause discolouration.
  • Avoid any type of exfoliating product until directed otherwise by your Professional Skin Therapist.
  • Continue to use the products included in the Post-Procedure Kit for the duration of the peeling process. Moisturise throughout the day to maintain hydration and decrease the appearance of flaking.
  • Once peeling and redness have subsided, you may resume your regular Dermalogica daily routine.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise on the day of treatment, along with prolonged exposure to heat sources like dry saunas or steam rooms; these activities increase blood circulation to the face, which can lead to discomfort, redness, swelling or other side effects.
  • On the night of treatment rinse your face with cool water and cleanse with UltraCalming Cleanser.
  • Depending on the pro power peel performed and the level of inflammation, use Pro Restore and/or the Post-Procedure Kit.
  • Increase fluid intake for the next 2-3 days.
